Artist Reimagines Iconic Paintings With Bill Murray’s Face And The Internet Loves It

No matter what your art history teacher used to say, if you've ever set foot in a museum, you know it’s not for everyone. I mean, as much as we do admire some of the iconic paintings like Grant Wood’s “American Gothic” or Frida Kahlo’s colorful self-portraits, by the second display hall, it does get a teeny tiny bit boring. But what if your eye was caught by Bill Murray’s face right there where “Whistler’s Mother” should be? Sounds random, but bear with me.

Apparently, Boston-based artist Eddy Torigoe Pellot is doing precisely that. In a series of absurd photo manipulations, Eddy has inserted Murray’s face into some of the most iconic works in art history. And it works!

The guy who has always been a fan of the American actor realized that “he resembled George Washington’s portrait to an uncanny degree.” And the rest is history. With an entire gallery below for you to scroll through, we can now safely say that Bill’s face transcends time and space.
