Artist Who Makes People Cry With Her Comics Just Released A New One, But This Time, It’s A Happy One

Jenny Jinya’s comic strips are known as notorious tearjerkers for a good reason. They often touch difficult subject matter like animal cruelty, neglect, death, and the afterlife, both educating us and sticking with us for days to come.

Some of her most powerful comics featured a black cat, a duck, an albatross, a lion, an elephant, and a dog bred to be a fighter.

But this time, the German illustrator surprised her fans and did something completely different. “By popular request, I have now tried a ‘happy’ comic,” she tweeted two days ago along with the beautiful comic which finally has a happy ending. “I was worried that my readers might be a little exhausted,” Jenny told us in an interview with Bored Panda that you can read in full down below.

Jenny just released a new strip that features a new character and ends happily

Jenny told us that she has been aware that her comics are really hard to take. “I know that and I read a lot about how close they get to people.” For this reason, she said she wanted “to try and give her fans something that would cheer them up” and won’t get them down.

As a result, she came up with the idea to draw this fox comic strip, which is the first “happy” one she has ever done. In the beginning, Jenny said she had some doubts whether “people would like this new approach, especially by introducing the new character ‘Life.'” Meanwhile, she found it very exciting to put her sad series in a whole new light.

The new character named “Life” was, in fact, inspired by the Reaper, for whom Jenny always felt sorry since he has “a sad and lonely job.” Jenny explained: “Although he has a friendly and gentle nature, he often gets blamed for everything and encounters hostility.”

It’s important to realize that the Reaper too “belongs to the circle of life.” In fact, “If anyone understands and appreciates him,” Jenny said, “it is life itself.”
