“What Happens When You Donate $45 To The Humane Society For Three Hand-Drawn Portraits Of Your Pets”

When the Humane Society announced that it launched a fundraiser campaign, people were ecstatic because the organization promised a badly done drawing of your pet if you donated 15 dollars.

Well, one person donated 45 dollars to the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County branch in exchange for three drawings of their pets and then shared the bad but wholesome results on Imgur. And you know what? We love ‘em. Scroll down and have a look. Oh, and be sure to let us know in the comments below which drawing you liked the most and why, dear Pandas.

“Worth every penny! If you’re interested, look up the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County. They have a bunch more drawings posted on their Facebook page!”

The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County branch isn’t the only one raising funds with bad original drawings. The Wisconsin Humane Society branch earlier stated that they had “a pool of staff and volunteers standing by, eager to turn your animal into a timeless work of art (or at least make you laugh). You might get one of our extremely talented artists, but we’ll be honest… you’ll probably get someone who can’t draw their way out of a paper bag.”

In a previous interview with Bored Panda, Angela Speed, the Vice President of Communications at the Wisconsin Humane Society told us about what inspired the fundraiser, the number of requests for drawings, and how the campaign had to be closed early.

According to Angela, the inspiration for the fundraiser came from BARCS, an animal rescue group based in Baltimore.

“We reached out to them about borrowing their idea, and also to learn more about how they made their campaign successful; we really appreciated their support and guidance!” Speed said.

The Wisconsin branch of the organization had to close its campaign 36 hours after it started because they were flooded with requests for pet portraits.

“The volunteers who wielded crayons and colored pencils have been working tirelessly to get them finished,” the Humane Society wrote, having raised around 12k dollars. Every donation and every portrait really left its mark.
