Guy Posts Hilarious Ratings After Noticing That A Company Used Employees As Models

The Internet is definitely the place to go if you need some entertainment in your life. And while some rely on endless lists of memes, funny videos and interesting articles, other people manage to entertain themselves by creating funny content. Imgur user FranklyBagel did just that when he created a hilarious review for a company catalog he received at work. Don't think that can be funny? Well, scroll down and see for yourself.

FranklyBagel opened up his rating gallery with a statement: "This branded merch catalog came in the mail at work today. All the models are employees of the company". And from there, the man's review began. He posted 15 pictures giving most of them a rating in a ten-point system and added some short commentary to justify the score the pictures received.

Bored Panda reached out to the man for some additional information, and he replied with some extra bits of info. "My name is Brian from Illinois. I work in a restaurant mainly as a server but a few days a week, I supervise the front of house during lunch shift," the man introduced himself. "The restaurant I work at is a little more well known for dinner, so lunches can be pretty boring... until things like this catalog roll along and give me something to do. You gotta find the fun, ya know?" Brian said.

"The mailman handed me two copies of this goldmine of amateur model shots and it got me right on the comedy train," Brian recalled how he first picked up the catalog. He also gave a little background on it: " So this catalog is from a regional dispenser of brandable merchandise. Instead of hiring models, they use their employees to model their merch. According to many of the comments on the post, it’s a delightful company to work for and the people who sign up to model are really jazzed about doing it".

#1 Cori, With 4imprint 12 Years

"Cori, 10/10. Clearly a master of her craft. Perfect spacing on that two hand hold. Really lets the products breathe and live in the space she’s created. Next up we have the bag-holding category."

#2 Jaclyn, With 4imprint 3 Years

"Jaclyn, 10/10. I mean look at that. This is a woman who knows how to hold a bag. She knows what that bag says, and she says it in her expression: Sassy. A master at work."

When asked how did he come up with the rating system, Brian revealed that everything came together organically. "I wanted to rate these people for their ability of modeling these products and nothing more than that. I didn’t want to go blue with my humor and start making fun of physical attributes of the people. That’s just not funny," he explained. "I love riding that line of wholesome and absurd," the man credited the McElroy brothers of Adventure Zone and My Brother, My Brother And Me fame as sources of his type of humor. "The ratings kind of evolved over the course of the post into the way a contest judge might judge professional contestants, hence the relatively harsh 1-10 ratings," he told us.

#3 Xai, With 4imprint 7 Months

"Xai, 10/10. A newcomer to the scene. He just really gets it, folks. He shows a few options with one hand, then says, “no no there’s more. It opens.” Pure class."

#4 Mindy, With 4imprint 13 Years

"Mindy, I give a 6/10. Solid baseline. Not afraid to use the two-hand-fan-out technique. Little crooked though."

Brian also revealed that he did not see the post going viral when he first posted the review: "This is the first thing I’ve ever posted to get anywhere near this amount of attention". "I loved reading the comments because they responded to my wholesome content with very wholesome reactions. I got a lot of comments in the vein of “thanks! Made my day!” And “ you should do more of these! I want you to rate everything!” ... so yeah, not going to lie, for a couple days my head had trouble getting through the door," he detailed.

But the unexpected fame also made Brian think things through: "If I had to say I had any one regret with this post, it would be coming down so hard on Jim. I actually got some flak for this in the comments. He did a great job showing off those memo pads. At the time, I thought it might be funny to randomly rate one person super harsh." Because of this, Brian offered an exclusive Bored Panda re-rating for Jim:

"Jim, 8/10. Jim exhibits a simple and confident grip on this small bundle of memo pads. He’s not overconfident. Three is enough. Only a pro practices this kind of restraint".

#5 Dave, With 4imprint 20 Years

"Dave, 10/10. His experience really shines here. This is a man who knows a hat when he sees one."

#7 Rachael, With 4imprint 12 Years

"Rachael, 2/10. Utter mess. First off she’s trying the one hand layer technique. Not a good look on her. Just sloppy all around."

#8 Dan, With 4imprint 20 Years

"Dan, 5/10. We get what you were going for and we love the confidence. The problem came from the execution. Way too much tongue."

#9 Kevin, With 4imprint 7 Years

"Kevin, 9/10. Not too much to complain about here folks, great form on the handle and bottom of the bag hold. He really came prepared this year with those matching frames."

#10 See, With 4imprint 8 Years

"See, 7/10. Pretty solid. Some uneven spacing, but again not afraid of the tried and true two-hand-fan-out."

#11 Henny, With 4imprint 17 Years And Justing, With 4 Imprint 3 Years

"Like first off we have this photoshopped pretend couple on the cover to kick things off. Next we have our pen-holding category"

#12 Danielle, With 4imprint 6 Years

"Danielle, 6/10. Again a solid starter, just not enough conviction and pride in her to really shine. I’d love to see some more representation of that brand in her eyes."

#13 Annette, With 4imprint 11 Months

"Annette, 3/10. I just see a lack of motivation here. Have some feeling when you’re showing off nature’s bounty. Straighten your glasses and pick yourself up for next year."

#14 Jim, With 4imprint 1 Year

"Jim, 1/10. Disgraceful. Don’t come if you don’t even care about the craft."

#15 Manuel, With 4imprint 7 Months

"Manuel, 3/10. Buddy. I know you tried, but there’s so much room for improvement here. You know what you need to do, let’s see a better showing next year. Next up we have our standalones."
